HE CRISPED UP SOME LONGANIZA, (FILIPINO SAUSAGE) FRIED AN EGG AND SLATHERED MAYO AND BANANA KETCHUP ONTO HIS TOASTED PANDESAL - THEN HE WENT TO TOWN…

…IT WAS A REVELATION!

MATT HAD CREATED THE PERFECT SANDWICH; FAT AND SALT STUFFED BETWEEN LIGHT, PILLOWY, EVER SO SWEET BREAD; SLIGHTLY EXOTIC AND DOWNRIGHT DELICIOUS. MATT AND HIS NOW WIFE CORVETTE STARTED EXPERIMENTING WITH DIFFERENT SANDWICH COMBINATIONS, USING CLASSIC FILIPINO FLAVORS AND THEY SOON REALIZED THEY WERE ON TO SOMETHING HUGE…

MATT & CORVETTE HAD OFTEN DREAMED OF STARTING A FOOD BUSINESS. THEY WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT CORVETTE’S HERITAGE AND INTRODUCE OTHERS TO FILIPINO FOOD IN A NEW AND ACCESSIBLE WAY. BY FUSING CORVETTE’S TALENTS IN THE KITCHEN AND MATT’S WACKY BRAIN, SHAMELESS BUNS WAS BORN!

FILIPINO FOOD IS THE UNSUNG HERO IN THE ASIAN FOOD LEXICON; A CUISINE SHAPED BY HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF INFLUENCE FROM OTHER NATIONS…AMERICA THEN INTRODUCED ‘WAR RATIONS’ LIKE SPAM, VIENNA SAUSAGES AND CANNED CORN BEEF DURING WWII, WHICH SOON BECAME AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CULTURE. OVER TIME, WHAT EMERGED WAS A MULTIFACETED AND COMPLICATED CUISINE THAT TO DO THIS DAY IS VIRTUALLY UNKNOWN TO MOST NON-FILIPINOS.
